A New Year- Cleanse the Gut, Heal the Mind

We often look at cleansing the physical body after the excesses of the Festive season, but sometimes forget how our mind may also need cleansing.

Our diet has a huge influence on our emotional state and we may have less energy, suffer mood swings and negative feelings as well as feeling mentally sluggish if we aren’t eating the right foods to feed our nervous system which helps stabilise our mind.

Foods that are difficult to digest and may bring confusion to the mind include meat, fish, eggs, sugary food and alcohol – all of which we often have excesses of over the Festive season!

Foods that act as stimulants for the body and mind include coffee, tea, chocolate, wine, onions and garlic. In small quantities these foods are helpful but too much can result in irritability, hyperactivity and of course sleep problems.

So how can you cleanse your body and mind?

Increase your intake of foods that calm the mind and purify the body including green leafy vegetables, nuts, grains, seeds and fresh fruits.

To help to get your eating habits back on track consider using a cleanse such as the Healthy Starter Pack – http://robertsontherapies.eu.nspshop.com/healthy_starter_pack

This is a great way to cleanse our internal systems of toxins including the kidneys, liver, colon. All of which need to be in great shape to keep us healthy.
